Adjusting Fixed Argon Nozzle
This article guides you step-by-step through the process of aligning the Argon Gas Nozzle
Tools needed:
- Adjustable lab jack
- Wire pin, 2" long, 0.020" or smaller diameter. 0.020" is preferred
- Short crosshead screwdriver

- Put the lab jack inside the chamber and adjust it into focus.
- Slide the pin into the center of the gas nozzle. Note: You may need to remove the nozzle to do this.

- Loosen, but do not remove, the two crosshead screws holding the gas bracket to the ceiling of the welding chamber.

- Looking through the scope, hold the nozzle and move it slightly forward. Adjust it so the end of the wire is in the cross-hairs


Note: It's okay if the bracket is slightly crooked on the chamber's ceiling.

- Keeping the nozzle in place, tighten the two screws.

- Check if the pin hasn't moved after tightening.
- Remove the pin.
- Check your gas regulator. It should be between 20 and 30 CFH.
- Check the gas flow at the nozzle. The factory setting is three turns open from
- Closed the gas valve near the joystick.
