Flushing the water system on a 99X series laser

This article provides a detailed guide to emptying the water system on a 99X Series tabletop laser. This procedure is useful when transporting the laser in extremely cold conditions or when the internal lamp breaks and small glass particles may enter the heat exchanger.

If you transport the laser during low-temperature seasons, thoroughly flush the system to prevent ice from breaking components such as the lamp, the Yag Rod, or the Heat Exchanger. This procedure applies to G3, G4, and G5 laser’s

To remove water from the system, blow it out with compressed air or nitrogen, whichever is at hand. Follow the steps below:

Drain the system. Remove the water from the water container.

Disconnect the outlet hose on the Flash Lamp Chamber

Please insert the disconnected hose into a container to collect the water expelled from the system when you apply compressed air.

Now, apply compressed air or nitrogen through the chamber nozzle to expel the water via the hose into the container. This will remove the water present in the heat exchanger. It can also help remove debris trapped in the heat exchanger, such as remnants of a broken lamp.

In this way, the system will be completely free of water susceptible to freezing during transportation in low winter temperatures, in addition to cleaning the entire system of debris trapped in the laser’s water system.

Don't forget to reconnect the hose before adding water back to the system.
