How to Align an Nd:YAG Laser
This article describes the risks of adjusting the laser on your own and presents the two alternatives we offer to correct your alignment
Disclaimer: The procedures described herein should be performed only by or under the supervision of specialized technicians. LaserStar is not responsible for damage to parts, equipment, or persons attempting to perform any of these procedures without proper supervision or technical assistance, proper tools, or safety measures necessary for laser, high, and low voltage handling.
The alignment of an Nd: YAG laser involves precisely adjusting the optical components of its resonant cavity (glass and mirrors). It aims to ensure that the beam of light bounces exactly along its own axis, passing through the active medium to maximize power, coherence, and shot quality.
This alignment requires specialized tools; it cannot be performed by eye. In addition, it is a process that carries risks: if proper protective equipment is not used and laser safety is not considered, it can cause permanent damage to eyesight.
LaserStar recommends that this process be performed by personnel trained and specialized in laser alignment. We have technical personnel trained to carry out this activity.
For LaserStar to realign the laser, we can offer you two options:
- A technical visit by one of our specialists
- That you send us the rail to carry out the alignment in our facilities
Both options have a cost; you can consult with LaserStar and evaluate which one suits you best
