What are the correct specifications for the DI water for my laser?
This document contains the specifications for the DI water to be used in the laser
- Physical State: Clear Liquid
- Color: Colorless
- Odor: Odorless
- Pressure Density: 1 7.5mm Hg @ 20 0 C
- Viscosity: 1 CP @ 20 0 C
Boiling Point: 1 00 0 C - Freezing I Melting Point: O O C

- Solubility in Water: Soluble
- Specific Gravity I Density: 1 .0
- Molecular Formula: 1-120
- Molecular Weight: 18.0134
- Minimum Resistivity3 : 1.0 megohms

Nominal Resistivity: 2.5 megohms (MQ)
- Maximum Resistivity2 : 5.0 megohms
- Minimum Conductance (1,2): 0.200 microsiemans
- Nominal Conductance (1): 0.400 microsiemans (VS)
- Maximum Conductance (1,3): 1.0 microsiemans
Notes:
- Conductance (VS) is the reciprocal of resistivity (MQ).
- If resistivity is to high (or conductivity is to low), there may be damage to the LaserStar Welder DI Water System due to an excessive attraction of ions by the
DI water. (Note: Deionized water, however, is inherently acidic and contaminants [such as copper, dust, stainless and carbon steel, and many other common materials] rapidly supply ions, thus re-ionizing the water.) - If the resistivity is to low (or conductivity to high), the life of the DI Water Filter in the machine will be shortened. Additional damage may occur to other components in the LaserStar Welder.
